Nurse Practitioner – Radiation Oncology

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care for radiation oncology patients – including in-patient consultations – under the direct supervision of the attending physician of record, and will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide optimum care for patients on their assigned service. Clinical responsibilities will be shared with the resident team and include: evaluating patients, entering patient care orders, performing procedures, providing education, and communicating and documenting all patient care activities. The goal is to provide continuity of care in order to achieve optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications include a MSN with graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program. Current Connecticut APRN license (or eligible).Minimum two years experience as an advanced practice nurse in Oncology or two years in Oncology Nursing. Excellent basic knowledge with clinical skills and judgment required. Possess analytical skills to evaluate care needs, ability to gather relevant clinical data, perform throrough physical examinations, and possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication and leadership activities and exhibit good judgment and tact dealing with patients, families, and allied health professionals. Computer skills preferred. Applicants without Oncology experience will be considered on a case by case basis. ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider certification a plus.
